Poland resumes imports of Russian gas, says quality improved

WARSAW, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- Poland has resumed imports of Russian natural gas after quality of the blue fuel improved, gas transportation system operator Gaz-System said in a statement on Friday.

“Gaz-System has restarted taking fuel to the gas transportation system of the country from the Yamal (Yamal–Europe) pipeline on June 23 at 6.00 a.m. (local time),” the statement read.

Gaz-System stopped reception of Russian gas saying that the quality of gas did not meet the quality parameters listed in the company’s instruction on movement and exploitation of the gas transportation system IRiESP.

On Thursday, Deputy CEO of Russian gas giant Gazprom Alexander Medvedev said the company has solved technical issues with the quality of gas, and that Poland overstated the significance of the issue.
